I was never “picky” as a child. My mom told me I was a very chill daughter who was open to eating and trying anything. I, unlike most kids, actually liked eating brussel sprouts (a vegetable that has one of most acquired tastes, IMO). I ate my veggies, wore whatever my mom dressed me in with ease, and attended any extracurriculars with excitement. Picky was not how my mom would describe 8-year-old Eva, but picky is how she might describe 30-year-old me now. Here’s what changed.
