I was never “picky” as a child. My mom told me I was a very chill daughter who was open to eating and trying anything. I, unlike most kids, actually liked eating brussel sprouts (a vegetable that has one of most acquired tastes, IMO). I ate my veggies, wore whatever my mom dressed me in with ease, and attended any extracurriculars with excitement. Picky was not how my mom would describe 8-year-old Eva, but picky is how she might describe 30-year-old me now. Here’s what changed.
I am still very open to things, as I think everyone should try something at least once before they write it off entirely. That said, I’m very particular about what I like — and I know what I want — and that’s why some people in my close circle would say, “Yeah, Eva is picky, but in a good way.” I was picky about boys, which led me to find my most-perfect-for-me fiancé; I was picky about apartments, which led me to our Upper East Side gem; and I’m picky about clothing, which is why so many of my friends come to me for fashion advice, especially right now, with Amazon's Big Spring Sale ensuing some major shopping inspiration — but hurry, the sale ends tonight.

I hear you, and I’m here to help. With quite literally thousands of options to choose from during Amazon’s massive seasonal markdowns, it’s easy to want to buy everything. But before you convince yourself that you need that discounted bag just because, take a breath, consider your wardrobe, and think wisely about your purchases. Taking a moment like this is the best way to avoid buyer’s remorse; it’s a method I’ve done so often, and it’s saved me so much, literally.
I did my stop, think, and breathe, routine with all the pieces I chose, and every single one passed the test. From a buttery soft tee that’s bound to be one of my most-worn pieces when it arrives at my doorstep to comfy, flattering jeans from a Jennifer Garner-worn brand, here are all the must-haves from Amazon’s big sale.
Splendid Crewneck Short-Sleeve Tee T-Shirt
Cozy doesn’t even begin to describe this Splendid tee. If you’ve never owned anything from Splendid, then you’re really missing out, because the brand is a leader in buttery soft staples that you can wear 24/7. I even sleep in my pieces from the brand, even though they certainly weren’t designed to be pajamas.
Ugg Cozetta Braid Slipper
Talk about comfort in a shoe! I'm going to be living in these cuddly Ugg slippers that are so on sale, I thought the price was a typo. But alas, it’s real life, and right now, you can snag these super-cute slip-ons for $66. I already bought my mom and myself a pair, so now it’s your turn.
Joe's Jeans the Mia Jeans
I’ve waxed poetic about Joe’s Jeans, which Jennifer Garner is a fan of, too, so whenever I see them discounted, I make it a goal of mine to invest in a new pair. Every style I have from this label has been *chef’s kiss,* with comfy fabric, flattering silhouettes, and secret butt-boosting powers.
Check out more picky editor-approved fashion staples that are going to majorly upgrade your spring 2024 wardrobe. Shop them on sale through tonight and thank me later.
